Joseph Batir, PhD

Dr. Joseph Batir is TEVERRA’s Lead Geothermal Geoscientist with over 10 years of geothermal experience specializing in data mining, thermal resource characterization, numerical modeling, and geospatial analysis. Dr. Batir has performed geothermal projects throughout the Continental United States, Alaska, Africa, and Iceland, in areas of low-temperature, high-temperature, and EGS applications. During his Ph.D. and postdoctoral studies in the SMU Geothermal Laboratory, he collaborated with national laboratories, universities, oil and gas companies, geothermal companies, and mining companies. Dr. Batir was awarded a B.Sc. in Geology from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, a M.Sc. in Geothermal Energy from the School for Renewable Energy Science, and a Ph.D. in Geophysics from Southern Methodist University.
