About the Role

Teverra is seeking a Hydraulic Fracturing Modeling Engineer to support the design and development of Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS). This role focuses on applying advanced stimulation and geomechanics workflows to create and optimize engineered geothermal reservoirs, enabling efficient heat extraction while managing subsurface risks.

You will work at the intersection of geomechanics, reservoir engineering, and stimulation design, contributing to next-generation geothermal solutions in both greenfield and repurposed assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and simulate hydraulic stimulation programs for EGS reservoirs (injection, stimulation, circulation phases)

  • Develop and apply fracture modeling workflows (planar and complex fracture networks) for geothermal environments

  • Integrate in-situ stress, thermal effects, and rock properties into stimulation design

  • Evaluate and manage risks related to:

    • Induced seismicity

    • Fracture containment and connectivity

    • Thermal breakthrough and reservoir sustainability

  • Analyze and calibrate models using:

    • Pressure/rate data

    • Microseismic monitoring

    • Fiber optic (DAS/DTS) data where available

  • Support field pilots and demonstrations

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across geoscience, drilling, and reservoir engineering

  • Contribute to development of innovative workflows, including physics-informed and data-driven modeling approaches

Qualifications

  • MSc or PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Geomechanics, or related field

  • 3–10+ years of experience in hydraulic fracturing and stimulation modeling

  • Strong experience with industry tools (e.g., ABAQUS, GOHFER, ResFrac, MFrac, StimPlan)

  • Solid understanding of:

    • Rock mechanics and stress analysis

    • Fracture propagation and fluid-rock interaction

    • Reservoir engineering fundamentals

  • Experience in unconventional reservoirs required; geothermal/EGS experience is a strong plus

  • Familiarity with thermal-hydraulic-mechanical (THM) processes preferred

  • Programming/data analysis skills (Python, MATLAB) are a plus

What We’re Looking For

  • Ability to translate oil & gas stimulation expertise into geothermal applications

  • Strong analytical mindset with a focus on real-world deployment

  • Interest in advancing next-generation geothermal technologies

  • Collaborative and adaptable team player

Why Teverra

  • Be at the forefront of EGS and geothermal innovation

  • Work on high-impact DOE and commercial projects

  • Contribute to technologies enabling clean, firm, and scalable energy

  • Join a team combining deep subsurface expertise with advanced analytics
