Teverra Brings the Future of Geothermal to Capitol Hill

In July 2026, Teverra leaders traveled to Capitol Hill to meet with bipartisan congressional offices and discuss how advanced geothermal energy and subsurface thermal energy storage can support America’s growing electricity needs.

Founder Hamed Soroush, CEO Randal Wichuk, and Legislative Strategy Advisor Emily Bowers met with offices from both the House and Senate. Discussions focused on geothermal innovation, rising energy demand from AI and data centers, and the permitting challenges affecting geothermal development.

Teverra also highlighted its experience supporting Department of Energy and Department of Defense projects, as well as the potential of ResStor™, the company’s underground thermal energy storage technology, to reduce cooling-related electricity demand and improve energy resilience.

The meetings reflected growing bipartisan interest in dependable, domestic energy technologies that can strengthen grid reliability, energy security, and economic competitiveness.
