Washington, D.C. | April 28–29, 2026 — TEVERRA participated in Capitol Hill advocacy meetings organized by Geothermal Rising, joining industry leaders and policy experts to advocate for the growing role of geothermal energy in strengthening U.S. energy security, grid reliability, and long-term resilience.

Representing TEVERRA, Dr. Hamed Soroush participated in a series of productive discussions alongside Ann Garth from Clean Air Task Force, Christopher Lindsay from International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, and Jan Mares from Resources for the Future. Over the two-day event, the group met with the offices of several U.S. Senators and Representatives, including:

  • Jon Ossoff (Georgia)

  • John Curtis (Utah)

  • John James (Michigan)

  • Tom Tiffany (Wisconsin)

  • Seth Magaziner (Rhode Island)

  • Julie Fedorchak (North Dakota)

  • Rick Allen (Georgia)

  • Luz Rivas (California)

  • Buddy Carter (Georgia)

Discussions focused on the strategic importance of geothermal energy as a firm, domestic, and scalable energy source capable of supporting growing electricity demand while enhancing grid reliability and reducing infrastructure strain. Conversations also highlighted geothermal’s advantages, including its minimal land footprint, high reliability, and strong alignment with long-term energy resilience goals.

During the meetings, the group also discussed targeted appropriations priorities and policy pathways aimed at accelerating geothermal deployment and supporting continued innovation across the sector. One of the most encouraging outcomes of the event was the growing bipartisan recognition of geothermal energy as a critical component of the future U.S. energy mix. The discussions reflected increasing awareness of geothermal’s potential to contribute to national energy security, economic growth, and long-duration reliable power generation.

TEVERRA appreciated the opportunity to contribute to these important conversations and collaborate with industry and policy leaders working to advance geothermal development across the United States.
