On June 19, 2025, Dr. Hamed Soroush, CEO of Teverra, was served as a featured panelist at the Japan Energy Summit & Exhibition 2025, held in Tokyo. The panel, titled “Carbon Capture Technologies: Bridging the Gap to a Low-Carbon World,” was hosted by Sulzer at the Climatetech Theatre, and brought together global experts to discuss cutting-edge advancements and collaboration in CO₂ capture and storage.

The panel explored how partnerships between technology leaders, policymakers, and financial institutions can accelerate the deployment of carbon capture solutions—particularly in the aviation sector and other hard-to-abate industries.

Dr. Soroush joined a distinguished lineup of international speakers, including:

  • Tatsuo Masuda, Professor, Kaishi Professional University

  • Thomas Winkler, Global Application Manager CCS, Sulzer

  • Dr. Thomas Koller, Regional Hydrogen & CCUS Segment Lead, APAC, DNV

  • René Leven, Hydrogen & CCUS Lead, John Crane

As CEO of Teverra, Dr. Soroush brought a unique perspective on the intersection of carbon capture and geothermal subsurface engineering, emphasizing how leveraging subsurface expertise is vital to the long-term success of carbon storage initiatives.

“CO₂ capture and storage is not only a critical pillar of the energy transition—it is an urgent global necessity,” Dr. Soroush stated. “At Teverra, we are committed to developing integrated, science-based solutions that ensure safe and scalable decarbonization pathways.”

The Japan Energy Summit, organized by dmg events—the producers of major global platforms such as ADIPEC, Gastech, and India Energy Week—continues to serve as a catalyst for climate tech innovation and policy alignment across Asia and beyond.

Teverra was proud to contribute to this meaningful discussion and remains at the forefront of driving sustainable energy transformation worldwide.
