On the eve of the IMAGE 2025 Conference in Houston, TEVERRA, in partnership with Seequent, hosted a high-level workshop, “The Geothermal Opportunity.” The event convened 20 senior leaders and decision-makers from 14 organizations representing the oil and gas, geothermal, power, chemical, and investment sectors.
Participants included representatives from Syensqo, Japex, INPEX Corporation, ADNOC Group, Baseload Power US, Ignis H2 Energy Inc., Aramco, GT Titan, Earth Energy Explorer, Ameresco, Invenergy, Carson Energy Inc., the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and Bechtel Corporation. Some attendees joined virtually from overseas, highlighting the global interest in advancing geothermal energy.
Comprehensive Agenda Covering the Geothermal Value Chain
The workshop delivered in-depth sessions spanning the critical dimensions of geothermal development, including:
Introduction to Geothermal Energy
Geothermal Markets and Investment Outlook
Exploration Campaign Design and Execution
Geothermal Model Building
Reservoir Modeling and Management
Geothermal Techno-Economics

The interactive format fostered robust dialogue and knowledge sharing, reinforcing geothermal’s growing importance in the global energy transition. The purpose of the workshop was to accelerate collaboration across sectors, strengthen technical and economic understanding of geothermal projects, and highlight the vital role geothermal will play in achieving a sustainable, reliable, and low-carbon energy future.
Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees emphasizing the value of practical insights and cross-sector collaboration. Participants walked away with a deeper understanding of geothermal markets, project development strategies, and techno-economic considerations—knowledge they can immediately apply within their organizations to accelerate geothermal deployment.
Recognizing Expertise and Collaboration
TEVERRA and Seequent extend sincere appreciation to the expert instructors—Joseph Batir, Emilie Gentry, and Samantha Sellars—whose technical leadership guided the sessions with clarity and depth. Special thanks also go to Islam Mitwally and Kathleen Gould for their role in organizing the event seamlessly.
Driving Geothermal Forward
Geothermal energy has the potential to become a primary energy source for communities worldwide. Achieving this vision requires aligned efforts from both industry and the investment sector. This workshop demonstrated the strong commitment already underway, setting the stage for greater collaboration and innovation in the years ahead.
